NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bryson Randolph and Megan Dunn were recently the recipients of a very special bedroom makeover thanks to the combined efforts of the
Bryson, age 14 from Murfreesboro, and Dunn, age 20 from Nashville, have battled cancer and their new bedrooms were gifts provided to give them a new outlook on life thanks to the inspiration provided by BrittiCares mission of “helping children survive cancer, one smile at a time!”
Verner and his wife Sinae were joined by Titans teammates
“They were all awesome,” said Shirelle Henderson, co-founder of BrittiCares said of the Titans players. “Vern is an amazing young man, on and off field. He has a giving heart, loves being there for people, is an encourager, an inspirer and does so much to help others. He and his three teammates came in and worked hard on the rooms. They scrubbed, painted and did a lot of hard work. It was something I haven’t seen before.”
Verner said his wife Sinae has known the Hendersons for many years and that it is a blessing for them to have the Alterraun Verner Foundation partner with BrittiCares on these two great efforts.
“We’re very close to the Hendersons and feel so honoured to meet these two recipients of the makeovers,” said Verner. “Every time I have an event, these same guys (Griffin, McCourty and Sensabaugh) always have my back and are there for me. I truly appreciate their friendship and I’m very thankful to have them with me.”
“It means a new beginning,” Felicia Randolph (Bryson’s mom) told NewsChannel5. Even looking at him now with that smile, he deserves it and for him, it’s everything.”
Bryson’s cancer is now in remission as is Dunn’s, who is feeling well enough to continue to work at a local furniture store chain.
“These people are all angels,” Dunn stated as she joyfully looked at those that provided her bedroom makeover gift. “This is just awesome, I’m very excited and I just want to sit on my new bed and soak it all in. This is so wonderful.”
Shirelle Henderson was joined in the two makeover efforts by her husband Jamie Henderson. About BrittiCares International: It is a 501 ( C ) ( 3 ) non-profit organization committed to finding new and better ways to improve the quality of life for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. The inspiration of the organization came from a little girl named Brittiana Henderson who was first diagnosed with Oestrogenic Sarcoma (bone cancer) at the age of 10 and later developed leukemia at age 12 where she fought courageously for one year all without complaining, and assisting other children with cancer to help them defeat the pernicious disease. Although Brittiana’s battle against Leukemia came to an end, the efforts of BCI have not diminished and have supported thousands of children battling cancer and their families.
