Posted May 20, 2013

Titans CB Jason McCourty donated money that will fund programs for Youth Encouragement Services at the McIver Center.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans defensive back Jason McCourty made a special visit to Youth Encouragement Services last week to present a check and play basketball with young people at the organization’s McIver Center.

McCourty has been a volunteer and enthusiastic supporter of the work of Youth Encouragement Services (YES) with at-risk youth in Nashville. He visits the center to mentor youth and enjoys spending time with the young people.

“Growing up I would have loved to have a center to go to after school,” McCourty said. “Seeing this going on and having the ability to help, is a nice feeling.”

McCourty added to that support with a personal donation that will fund an entire month of after-school programs for the 70 children at the McIver Center.

“Jason has been a great friend and supporter to YES,” said Rob McRay, executive director at Youth Encouragement Services. “The gift he made will provide after and summer school programming, a safe place for the kids, and homework help. Friends like Jason make (YES) possible.
