Titans Ask Fans to Support Annual Coat Drive Sunday vs. Colts

Posted Oct 22, 2012

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans are asking fans to show up in record numbers with new and/or used coats of all sizes during the team’s annual coat drive on Sunday, October 28th vs. Indianapolis at 12:00 noon.  Fans are being asked to bring coats to the game and drop them off in the specially marked collection sites located near each of the stadium entrances with collections starting at 10:00am through kickoff.

The coats will be collected by volunteers from the Liv2Giv Foundation, a teen-led organization, where students identify at-risk populations, research how to best serve them and ultimately work together to make a difference in the lives of others. At the end of the day, students are keenly aware of who their neighbors are and how they can love them as Christ commands.

On Monday the Titans will sort and distribute the coats to 14 area non-profit agencies that serve those in need in Middle Tennessee.  Last season’s coat drive collected more than 2,500 new and used coats that were donated to various local charities. Agencies receiving coats this year are Bethlehem Center of Nashville, Campus for Human Development, Catholic Charities, Magness Potter, Martha O’Bryan Center, Mending Hearts Inc., Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation, Nashville Rescue Mission, Oasis Center, Project S.E.E., Radical Mission, Salvation Army, World Relief, and YWCA.

“Our fans have always been incredibly supportive of our efforts to support our charitable drive partners,” said Bob Hyde, Titans VP-Community Relations.  “Our coat drive comes at a time that will fill a need for many of those less fortunate as temperatures are expected to drop from highs in the 80s this week to lows in the low 40s by the weekend.  Temperatures this weekend may be great for football weather but not for those without warm coats to help them battle the elements.”

The Tennessee Titans are proud to recognize the best fans in the NFL that continue to support our efforts both on and off the field.
