RB LenDale White celebrates after his 1-yard TD gave the Titans a 7-0 lead in
the second quarter.
With winds gusting up to 60 miles mph, the Tennessee Titans used offense, defense
and special teams to register a 24-7 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday
at Paul Brown Stadium, improving to 2-0 for the first time since the 1999 season.
Kerry Collins started at quarterback for the Titans, who played without injured
QB Vince Young. Collins made few mistakes, completing 14-of-21 passes for 128
yards and a touchdown. Rookie running back Chris Johnson notched his first 100-yard
rushing game, carrying 19 times for 109 yards, including a 51-yard run that set
up Justin Gage's 11-yard touchdown catch and 14-7 halftime lead. LenDale White
added 59 rushing yards and a 1-yard touchdown that gave the Titans a 7-0 lead
in the second quarter. After Rob Bironas connected on a difficult 34-yard field
goal in extreme windy conditions, Keith Bulluck blocked Kyle Larson's punt in
the end zone and made the recovery for a touchdown, accounting for the final 24-7
score. Cortland Finnegan and Michael Griffin each recorded interceptions for the
Titans, who return home to play the Houston Texans on Sunday at LP Field (noon,
CT).
