Vince Fuller returns an interception 76 yards for a touchdown, giving the Titans
a 20-13 lead in the third quarter.
On a day the offense was out of sync with five turnovers, Tennessee's defense
came to the rescue. Vincent Fuller intercepted a Joey Harrington pass and returned
it 76 yards for a touchdown, and the Titans' defense held off a furious Atlanta
rally near the goal line to preserve a 20-13 victory at LP Field. The win allowed
the Titans (3-1) to continue their best start since 2003 when they last reached
the playoffs. "It's been a while since I have been able to say that we are 3-1
after the first quarter of the season. We are and this counts as a win," Titans
head coach Jeff Fisher said. "The obvious reason we won this game today was because
of the consistent performance and never-say-die attitude that the defense took
throughout the game. I am very pleased with our defense."
