Defensive end Jevon kearse recorded his first sack of the preseason Friday night
at the Georgia Dome.
Vince Young registered his best performance of the preseason, but it was Falcons
rookie QB Matt Ryan who got the win. Young completed 9-of-18 passes for 102 yards
and an interception. Ryan completed 15-of-21 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown
as Atlanta posted a 17-3 victory Friday night at the Georgia Dome. Tennessee fell
to 2-1 in the preseason with its final exhibition game slated for next Thursday
at Green Bay. The Falcons improved to 1-2 on the preseason. Both teams traded
first half field goals before the Falcons opened the second half with a 9-play,
71-yard drive that resulted in Ryan's 1-yard TD pass to Harry Douglas. Falcons
rookie running back Thomas Brown added a 9-yard touchdown run late in the fourth
quarter to account for the final score. Top draft pick Chris Johnson led the Titans
offensively with 58 total yards. He carried 11 times for 35 yards and caught two
passes for 23 yards. John Vaughn's 50-yard field goal on the game's opening drive
accounted for Tennessee's only scoring. Jevon Kearse posted his first sack of
the preseason in the second quarter.
