Bernard Pollard Thanks Titans Season Ticket Members for Supporting Team

Posted Mar 18, 2014

Safety Bernard Pollard called Titans season ticket members to thank them for their continued support for the team.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bernard Pollard phoned season ticket members on Tuesday to thank them for their continued support of the organization.

The Titans safety, who earlier this month re-signed with Tennessee via a multi-year contract, visited the Titans’ ticket office at LP Field and called season ticket members who have renewed for 2014.

“We just want to show we’re thankful for what they’ve done because that’s big for this organization,” Pollard said.

In addition to Pollard, Titans general manager Ruston Webster and coach Ken Whisenhunt have called fans recently to thank them for their continued support. Pollard gained comfort in the role with every call he made, but doesn’t plan to switch lines of work soon.

“It’s definitely a lot of fun. It allows the fans to kind of interact with the player on the phone and get that personal interaction and laughter and everything else,” he said.

The phone calls are part of the continued efforts the Titans have implemented to thank fans for selling out LP Field for all 154 games the venue has hosted since 1999. Tuesday also marked the third of six scheduled tours of the stadium this spring to offer about 4,000 season ticket members a chance to visit the owner’s suite for a presentation with Titans Executive Vice President Don MacLachlan, have a Q&A with “Voice of the Titans Mike Keith, catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of T-Rac’s Den, observe an equipment demonstration and take photos with Titans Cheerleaders and in the locker room.

Once fans realized they were actually speaking with Pollard on speakerphone, they said they were glad that they’ll enjoy seeing him back with the Titans. He gained popularity with the fan base in his first season with the Titans by recording a team-best 142 tackles (93 solo) and adding three interceptions.

Pollard said he was excited to share his excitement with season ticket members.

“That’s what fans want: the excitement with the players. They want to join them and have fun,” Pollard said. “They’ve done a lot, they’ve sacrificed a lot. They’re following a team on TV on road games with cable, spending money for that, and with the season tickets. For us as players, all we can do is be appreciative, win for them and acknowledge them at all times.”
