Coty Sensabaugh Continues LLS Campaign with Fine Food & Fashion

Posted May 14, 2013

Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh is continuing his 10-week fundraising effort for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with "Dine with the Titans for a Cure" on May 22.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh’s quest to raise money for and awareness of blood cancer will continue with an evening of savory food and Titans players and cheerleaders modeling stylish clothes at a fashion show next week.

Sensabaugh is in the midst of a 10-week fundraising effort for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. The campaign launched April 4 and concludes June 13.

Sensabaugh personally titled his campaign “A Fight for Jamaar” to honor his brother who passed away at age 16 a week after he was diagnosed with leukemia. Coty was 11 at the time and has committed himself to helping patients and families who are facing the disease as a tribute to Jamaar.

“It’s something that I’m passionate about, so it really hasn’t been tough (to balance the campaign with the team’s offseason workout programs),” Sensabaugh said. “It’s just maximizing my time with everything I do. I really don’t sit around and waste any time, so it’s maximizing time in every aspect of my life.”

The campaign has included public appearances at California Pizza Kitchen and Sweet CeCe’s in Green Hills and at the Brentwood Chick-fil-A, as well as a Prowl & Growl with the Nashville Clemson Club that enabled Sensabaugh to raise money and share Jamaar’s story.

“The overall campaign is going well because I feel we’re reaching a lot of people and the message is getting out there, Sensabaugh said. “That’s what it’s all about: raising awareness and trying to help these people who are dealing with this disease.”

The next opportunity will be Dine with the Titans for a Cure.” The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on May 22 at Maggiano’s Little Italy.

In addition to enjoying a three-course meal of fine food, attendees will be able to socialize with Titans players and see them hit the runway with Titans cheerleaders in fashionable threads from JandHP Clothing and Muse Boutique.

When asked which teammate was most excited about the opportunity to be a model for an evening, Sensabaugh said, “I would say probably (Alterraun) Verner because he’s a big Michael Jackson fan, so you never know what he might do when he gets the spotlight.”

The official sponsors for the event include LP Building Products, Pinnacle Financial Partners, GS&F and Lily’s Garden.

A few tickets remain and can be purchased by calling (615) 535-3140 or emailing events@dreambuilders.com.

Additionally, Jimmy Choo of the Mall at Green Hills is hosting a pre-fall fashion show from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 30. A portion of that event’s proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. To RSVP for that event, email jaya.sams@jimmychoo.com or call (615) 292-2992.
