Johnson hurt his right ankle when tackled at the end of a 35-yard run late in last week's 27-13 loss at Indianapolis and did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday.
"CJ was limited, but he looked pretty good running,'' coach Mike Munchak said. "He did some reps, and if there's no soreness for him tomorrow, I would assume he is in good shape.''
The Titans don't have to designate the probability of whether injured players play until Friday, but Johnson is expected to play.
Johnson said he originally thought the injury might have been as bad as his rookie season when he was hurt in a playoff loss to Baltimore, an injury that kept him from playing in his first Pro Bowl.
With two games remaining, Johnson is 70 yards away from 1,000 yards rushing. If he reaches that, he would join Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell (1978-1981) and Eddie George (1996-2000) as the only ones to run for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons with this franchise.
