McCarthy also made a mark during his rookie season when he started seven of 13 games and recorded 76 tackles (eight for loss), forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles. He was voted by teammates as a defensive captain in 2012. McCarthy, however, suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener that cost him multiple games and a concussion that was diagnosed after Tennessee’s game Jacksonville (Nov. 25) that cost him the rest of the season.
Harper and Sensabaugh, who were teammates at Clemson before reuniting in Tennessee, have played primarily in reserve roles on their sides of the ball and on special teams. Sensabaugh played in all 16 games and made three starts as a rookie.
Stewart has started all 104 games he’s played and is rehabbing a leg injury he suffered in Week 12 last year. Hawkins has played in 52 games and had a career-high 47 catches for 470 yards in 2011.
