Season Ticket Member will Help Judge Semi-finals of Titans Cheerleaders Auditions

Posted Apr 15, 2014

A Titans Season Ticket Member who posts why he or she should help judge the semi-final round of 2014 Titans Cheerleaders auditions will be selected via Facebook or Twitter.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans Cheerleaders are offering the opportunity for a Season Ticket Member to judge the semi-final round of this year’s auditions, presented by Sun Tan City, at Saint Thomas Sports Park on April 27.

Titans Director of Cheerleading Stacie Kinder said it is important to include Season Ticket Members in the selection process to thank them and to diversify the input used during selection of the team.

“I firmly believe what is attractive and what makes the ideal Tennessee Titans Cheerleader is different to everybody, and there is no true right answer,” Kinder said. “So I think it’s important to have a representative from our Season Ticket Member base so we ensure that our product on game day is something they want to see and something they like.”

This is the second year that the opportunity has been extended. To be considered, Titans Season Ticket Members must like the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders on Facebook or follow @titanscheers on Twitter. Titans Season Ticket Members can then use either social network to explain why he or she should be selected as a judge.

“The question is, ‘What qualities do you have that would make you a member of this year’s judging panel? What qualifies you to be a judge of the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders?,’ and that’s broad,” Kinder said. “Even the judges I select don’t all come from dance backgrounds. There are fitness backgrounds, photography backgrounds, modeling backgrounds, so it’s kind of all over the place because everybody has a different opinion, and we want people that are very different from one another to be judges.”

The person chosen will be one of seven judges during the semi-final round that will narrow the field for 2014 Titans Cheerleaders from approximately 80 semi-finalists to 48 finalists. The semi-final round, which is closed to the general public, is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on April 27. The Titans Season Ticket Member who is selected to judge will have dinner with other judges and alumni that evening and receive two complimentary VIP passes to the final audition, scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 15, at the Wildhorse Saloon. The final audition is open to the public and tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Kinder said Michael Blasingham, the Titans Season Ticket Member who was selected to judge last year’s semi-final audition, did a great job.

“He was perfect. He had an entertainment background, had been a dancer and done some theater so he had a really great eye,” Kinder said. “He was actually a perfect fit to the panel in having that entertainment experience and also being a football fan. We hope to find someone else uniquely qualified this year.”

Kinder said an entertainment background isn’t required and encouraged participation.

“We have some uniquely talented Season Ticket Members, so I hope they will enter via Facebook or Twitter and be considered, and then the person that we select, I hope they take their position seriously just like Michael did,” she said.
