Titans Add Three Players to Roster

Posted Jan 3, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --The Titans signed three players to futures contracts: K Maikon Bonani, DE Marcus Dixon and TE Jason Schepler.

Dixon (6-4, 295) has 22 games of NFL experience over three seasons. He originally joined the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. He spent two seasons on the Cowboys practice squad before joining the New York Jets active roster for the next three seasons (2010-12). While with the Jets, he totaled 20 tackles and two and a half sacks during his 22 games. He signed with Kansas City for the 2013 season, but was waived following training camp. Dixon played his college football at Hampton.

Schepler (6-2, 274) signed as an undrafted college free agent this past spring with the San Francisco 49ers and was waived following training camp. He played in 49 games for Northern Illinois and totaled 14 receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns. As a senior, he was a team captain for the nation’s 12th best rushing attack and earned second-team Academic All-America honors.

Bonani re-joins the Titans after originally signing with the team last spring as an undrafted free agent and was waived following training camp. The University of South Florida product was one for two on field goal tries and six for six on PAT’s during the Titans 2013 preseason.
