Titans Reach Terms with Top Draft Pick Taylor Lewan

Posted Jul 24, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with rookie offensive tackle Taylor Lewan. The team selected the Michigan product with the 11th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft back in May.

Lewan is a two-time Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year as well as an AP First-Team All-American from his time at Michigan. The tackle was the only remaining first-round pick left unsigned from this year’s draft.

The Titans made Lewan the third tackle taken in the draft with Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews being selected second and sixth respectively.

The 6-foot-7, 309-pound Lewan saw time at both tackle spots throughout minicamps and is expected to be given every opportunity to compete for playing time in 2014.

Veteran Michael Roos has manned the left tackle spot since entering the league in 2005, while the club signed veteran Michael Oher from the Ravens during the offseason to replace David Stewart at right tackle.
