NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Titans released veteran defensive tackle Shaun Smith on Wednesday.
Smith signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Titans in 2011, appearing in 15 games with six starts and registering 44 tackles, one sack and two quarterback pressures.
Prior to arriving in Tennessee, Smith spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs (2010), Cincinnati Bengals (2009, 2004-2006), Cleveland Browns (2007-2008), New Orleans Saints (2004) and Dallas Cowboys (2003).
The Titans are deep at defensive tackle, having drafted four players at the position over the last two seasons. The team drafted ![]()

Smith tweeted Wednesday morning, "It's been real Nashville time to c what team I will be on next but am thankful for everything and the lord will continue to bless me."
Smith later tweeted "Thanks for the love ppl gonna miss my young killers in the D line in my honor I should of made better life decisions lol keep grinding."
