NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Wide receiver Kenny Britt has started to show why he's so valuable to the Tennessee Titans. Despite being missed the first few days of training camp due to contract negotiations and then a mild hamstring injury, the first-round pick finally showcased his talent Saturday against Tampa Bay. He proved why he deserved to be the 30th overall selection in the draft, catching five passes for 89 yards, including a 37-yard touchdown. Not too bad for his preseason debut, although his evening ended prematurely when he suffered a mild ankle injury in the third quarter. However, Britt returned to practice Tuesday and showed no ill-effects of the injury.

Like a Kid on Christmas MorningA Christmas present came a little earlier this year for Britt when he was spotted wide open in front of the end zone by quarterback Vince Young in the third quarter. Young was on the move and beautifully executed the throw, which allowed Britt to score his first NFL touchdown. "I felt like a little kid on Christmas day, expecting to get a lot of presents and when you open your first one, it's everything you've ever wanted," said Britt.

Britt said something sparked a chemistry with Young ever since he started practicing with the team. "I work a lot with the second team, and he is the second quarterback. So we get a lot of time together. I hope we can do it again," he said.

The New Jersey native had one family member in the crowd to witness his memorable moment. "My uncle who is a pastor, Reverend (Alex C.) Britt, was actually there for my first game and that was special because he came to almost all of my games when I was a little kid," said Britt. Britt expressed how much his family means to him, and he also can't wait for more family members to travel south for a game.

Rookie SpotlightAn NFL Films crew was present the past few days in Nashville and documented the former Rutgers standout. The crew shot footage of Britt in his new home, during practice, and most importantly on the field. They also captured his first touchdown as an NFL player and caught him chatting on the sideline with teammates.

The entertaining first-round pick seems as though he is beginning to get comfortable with the media and his new job. "I'm not worried about the cameras," he said. "I want them to get my personality, that I'm a good person who is always smiling. A godly man, who is here to work hard, but to also have fun."

In addition to Britt, NFL Films is compiling feature pieces on a selective group of other rookies entitled "Hey Rookie, Welcome to the NFL," which will eventually air on the NFL Network.
