Chance Warmack Didn't go Overboard on Thanksgiving Meal

Posted Nov 27, 2015

Titans guard Chance Warmack ate well on Thanksgiving Day, but "didn't go super crazy."

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans guard Chance Warmack ran off the practice field on Thanksgiving Day yelling these three words:

“Mac and Cheese.”

Yet Warmack said he didn’t go overboard on Thanksgiving, so he wouldn’t go overweight. It was a smart move. It allowed him to pass a surprise weigh-in by his head coach on Friday morning, when he also was awarded with a surprise.

“I ate, I ate good,’’ Warmack said on Friday after practice. “I just didn’t overeat. I had two plates, I just didn't go super crazy.”

Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey required players to weigh in on Thursday morning. When Warmack came in on Friday morning, Mularkey had a little surprise for him – a scale hidden in his closet.

He tricked Warmack into coming into his office this morning before practice.

“I asked him if he thought he was around his weight and he said he was, and I said ‘I am so proud of you, come on down and I’m going to give you (a bonus),’’’ Mularkey said. “And he came down like Rocky, like I’ve won (something big).

“I said, ‘Wait, let me double check’ and when I pulled the scale out of the closet the clothes started coming off. He just stripped down to nothing, but he made it, so he got his bonus. It was good humor…He was right at it, so I am proud of him.”

Warmack, who said he weighed in at 326 pounds today, acknowledged, with a smile, he stripped down to his tights before stepping on the scale.

“I was three pounds underweight,’’ Warmack said.

So what did Warmack eat?

“Mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole,’’ Warmack said. “I don’t really like turkey, so I had chicken, and that was it. And some collard greens.”

Warmack, for the record, had two plates.

Warmack said he saved his dessert for today.

“I have some cherry pie waiting for me at the crib,’’ he said.
