Justin Hunter Focused on Healing, Getting Better in 2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. —Justin Hunter's on the mend again, and he's not real happy about it.

The Titans receiver fractured his right ankle against the Panthers back on November 15, and had season-ending surgery the next day. A year ago, Hunter's season was cut short after he suffered a lacerated spleen against the Texans in late November.

Hunter was in the locker room on Friday on crutches, and in a protective boot.

His focus is on healing up, not his bad luck on the injury front.

"I don't think the spleen was necessarily bad luck to be honest with you. It was just a football play,'' Hunter said. "This was bad luck more than anything. I was mad about it. I was upset because there was a minute left in the game, we're already losing, and then I got hurt. It was just mad.

"Now I just have to get over this, get back and try not to get hurt. My mindset has been to get better and work hard."

Hunter, who played at the University of Tennessee, has one year left in the four-year contract he signed as a rookie.

Hunter is currently rehabbing the injury. He's expected to be in the boot and on crutches for roughly six weeks, he said.

In the meantime, he's been watching the games

Hunter has played in 35 games during his three-year NFL career. He has 68 catches for 1,116 yards and eight touchdowns.

"I'm just trying to get it right now, trying to get it back as fast as I can so I can work in the offseason,'' Hunter said. "No one wants to get hurt, but my focus now is on getting better and on getting ready to work hard."
