Three Quick Hits from Friday's Practice

Posted Oct 20, 2017

TitansOnline.com Senior Writer and Editor Jim Wyatt offers three quick hits from Friday's practice at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans just wrapped up practice on Friday at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

On Sunday, the team will travel to Cleveland to face the Browns.

Three quick hits:

Murray update

Running back DeMarco Murray returned to the practice field on Friday, but he was limited.

Coach Mike Mularkey said the team will list Murray as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Browns with a hamstring injury.

“It’s very frustrating, but I have to take it one day at a time,” Murray said of the injury. “No matter what the situation is, if it’s something I can play through or fight through I am going to try and do it, and worry about the aftermath when it is done, no matter what the repercussions may be.

“We’ll see how I feel. I’m going to get a good warmup in before the game and see how I feel and then make a decision from there.”

Murray has 313 yards on 68 carries this season. He’s been dealing with hamstring issues since training camp.

Murray said the fact the Titans have a bye week coming up doesn’t make a difference to him. He wants to play.

“I am not worried about next week,” Murray said. “I am looking at this week as if it’s the Super Bowl game. So I am just taking it one game at a time. Obviously you have to listen to your body – you don't want to put yourself at risk. We’ll see how it goes and see how I feel when I warm up.”

Decker emergence

Receiver Eric Decker had his most productive day as a Titan on Monday night against the Colts.

Decker caught seven passes for 88 yards against the Colts. He came up big on third down, helping the Titans continue drives.

Decker believes chemistry has improved between himself and quarterback Marcus Mariota, and that’s helped.

“I think we are just starting to get to that level of camaraderie I think we had early on,” Decker said. “It is all about timing, and chemistry and trust. That takes time, but we are getting there.”

On the season, Decker has 23 catches for 226 yards.

Injuries

Tight end Delanie Walker did not practice on Friday with a calf injury. He’s questionable for Sunday’s game.

Linebacker Derrick Morgan (abdominal strain) was also limited for the second day in a row, and he’s also questionable.

Receiver Corey Davis (hamstring) and safety Johnathan Cyprien (hamstring) did not practice and are out for Sunday’s game.
