NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have agreed to terms on a contract extension with guard Josh Kline.
Kline started all 16 games and both postseason contests at right guard in 2017, his second campaign with the Titans
Kline (6-3, 300) played in 30 games for the Titans over the previous two seasons. The Titans claimed Kline off waivers from the New England Patriots prior to the start of 2016 regular season to add competition, experience and depth to the interior of the offensive line.
He's been a durable and dependable pro ever since.
Pro Football Focus had the Titans ranked as the NFL's fifth-best offensive line in the NFL in 2017 in their post-season rankings.
Kline spent the first three NFL seasons with the Patriots, and he was a member of their 2014 Super Bowl team.
In 2016, Kline started 14 games at right guard in his first season with the Titans and was a part of an offensive front that blocked for the NFL's third-ranked rushing attack which averaged 136.7 rush yards per game.
In 2017, the Titans finished the regular season with a pass-blocking efficiency rating of 82.3, per PFF. The rating was tied for the third-highest rating in the league as they surrendered 126 total pressures – and just 14 sacks – on 553 pass-blocking snaps.
During Kline's two years with the Titans, the offensive line paved the way for the third-most rushing yards (4,020) and 11th fewest sacks allowed (63) in the NFL.
Kline had been scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday.
