Biography

 

PRO: Antwaun Woods was originally signed by the Titans as a rookie free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft.  The 6-foot-1-inch, 318-pounder had a strong preseason with the club and spent the first 16 weeks of his rookie campaign on the Titans’ practice squad.  He was signed to the active roster prior to the regular season finale to provide depth to the interior defensive front.   

TITANS TIDBITS:  
•    Woods was raised by his father and grandmother in a low-income area of Los Angeles called Baldwin Village, which Woods calls “The Jungle.”  He was bussed 45 minutes to Woodland Hills to attend Taft High School, where his dad once attended and played football on the offensive line.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
•    The Los Angeles, Calif., native was originally signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2016.
•    Waived by the Titans on Sept. 3, 2016 and signed to the team’s practice squad a day later.
•    Released by the Titans from their practice squad on Sept. 27, 2016.
•    Signed by the Titans to their practice squad on Oct. 3, 2016.
•    Signed by the Titans from their practice squad to the active roster on Dec. 28, 2016.

COLLEGE:
•    Appeared in 48 games for the University of Southern California with 44 starts and totaled 113 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two deflections and a fumble recovery in his career.  Was selected a team captain and named an All Pac-12 selection as a senior.
•    As a senior (2015), started and played in 13 games and racked up 41 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two deflections and a fumble recovery.  Earned first-team 2015 All Pac-12 honors.  Earned an invite to the 2015 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
•    Against Wisconsin (12/30, had a career-best eight tackles against Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl.
•    As a junior (2014), appeared in 12 games with 10 starts and registered 37 tackles and one sack.  Made six tackles and a sack against UCLA.  Tore a chest muscle prior to the Holiday Bowl and had surgery, ending his season.
•    As a sophomore (2013), played 13 games and started six and had 19 tackles including two stops for a loss.
•    As a redshirt freshman (2012), started the first four games of the season at nose tackle before becoming a productive reserve.  In 13 games made 16 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
•    As a freshman (2011), redshirted.
•    Received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Southern California in the spring of 2015.

•    Was a four-year starter for Taft (Woodland Hills, Calif.) High School and played offensive and defensive line.
