Biography

PRO: A tough and intelligent presence on special teams and as a reserve linebacker, Colin Allred has spent two full seasons on the 53-man roster (2008-09) after battling his way on to the field in 2007.  After entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Titans in 2006, the former Baylor Bear spent most of the 2007 season on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster for the final three regular season games and postseason. 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In his first three NFL seasons (2007-09), played in 27 games (two starts) and totaled 23 tackles and 22 stops on special teams.
• In 2009, he recorded his first career starts in the final two weeks of the season (Dec. 25 vs. San Diego, Jan. 3 at Seattle) after starting linebacker Keith Bulluck was lost for the season with a knee injury.
• Recorded two special teams tackles in his NFL debut at Kansas City on Dec. 16, 2007.  

TITANS TIDBITS: 
• After graduating from Baylor in December 2005, Allred was admitted to the University of California Berkeley School of Law.  He deferred his enrollment to pursue his football career.
• In college, Allred made money by starting his own computer repair business.  Although he no longer accepts clients, he still enjoys building computers for his personal use.
• An avid hiker, one of his preferred outdoor locations is the Redwood National Park in northern California. 

CAREER TRANSACTIONS: 
• The Dallas, Texas, native was originally signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2006.
• Released following his first training camp with the club (waived Aug. 29, 2006) and was re-signed on Jan. 26, 2007. 
• Waived on Sept. 1, 2007 but signed to the practice squad the following day. 
• Elevated to the active roster on Dec. 15, 2007. 

COLLEGE:
• In 37 career games at Baylor, posted 140 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles.
• As senior co-captain, started all 11 games, earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors from Associated Press and league coaches, and named first-team Academic All-Big 12.  Led Bears in sacks (5.5), ranked second in total tackles (73) and tackles for loss (nine), added two forced fumbles and returned interception for a score.
• Earned history degree in December 2005.

• Married to Kristen, couple resides in Nashville.
• Earned three-time All-District honors at Hillcrest (Dallas, Texas) High School.
• Played baseball and basketball, member of National Honor Society and class president.
