Biography

 
PRO: The Titans added free agent kicker/punter Jordan Gay in the 2017 offseason to provide depth and flexibility in the specialists unit. A three-year contributor at Centre College, Gay originally entered the league as a rookie free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 2013. After brief offseason and training camp stints with both the Panthers and New York Giants, Gay signed with the Buffalo Bills where he appeared in 33 games and handled kickoff duties from 2014-16.

Generated a gross punting average of 42.7 yards with 31 punts inside the 20, five touchbacks and a long of 73 yards on 113 punts. Also converted 111 of 113 extra point attempts, 31 of 49 field goal attempts and scored two touchdowns. Gay finished his career at Centre with 216 points and set numerous school records including most field goals made in a single season (12 in 2010), single-season punting average (44.8 in 2012), most field goals made in a career (31) and most PATs (111).
• As a senior (2012), appeared in 10 games and recorded a gross punting average of 44.8 yards on 34 punts with a long of 59. Placed seven punts inside the 20 with one touchback. Made eight of 17 field goals including a long of 53 as well as all 32 extra point attempts. Ran in a nine-yard touchdown and notched a team-leading 62 points on the season.
• As a junior (2011), played in 11 games and posted a team-leading 84 points. Punted 49 times and produced a gross average of 41.3 yards with 14 punts inside the 20, three touchbacks and a long of 73. Connected on 11 of 16 field goals with a long of 51 and made 45 of 46 extra points. Successfully executed a seven-yard touchdown run on a fake field goal.
• As a sophomore (2010), appeared in 10 games and produced a 42.6 yard punting average on 30 punts with a long of 62. Placed 10 punts inside the 20 with one touchback. Made 12 of 16 field goals with a long of 52, as well as 34 of 36 extra points to total 70 points on the season.
• As a freshman (2009), did not play.

• Earned a degree from Centre College in financial economics.
