    The NFL will celebrate its brightest stars of today and tomorrow with new Pro Bowl week festivities in 2017 in Orlando.

    Culminating with the 2017 Pro Bowl game at Camping World Stadium on Sunday, January 29 and televised live at 7 PM CT on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, Pro Bowl week will celebrate all levels of football -- from youth to high school to the NFL's best.

    The 2017 Pro Bowl will feature a return to the traditional AFC vs. NFC game format following three years using a revised, "unconferenced" format. The NFL's best will once again be in the spotlight as 88 players -- 44 from the AFC and 44 from the NFC -- are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches.

Biography

PRO: Ricky Schmitt was signed by the Titans during the 2010 offseason to provide depth at the kicking and punting positions.  The versatile specialist entered the NFL in 2007 and has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders. 

TITANS TIDBITS: 
• Although he’s now competing on an NFL roster, Schmitt was not involved with organized football until his senior year of high school.  The four-year high school soccer standout was convinced to play on the football squad because of their need for a kicker and punter and was good enough in his only season to be named All-District.  

CAREER TRANSACTIONS: 
• The Virginia Beach, Va., native was originally signed by the Arizona Cardinals as a rookie free agent on May 14, 2007.
• Waived by the Cardinals on Aug. 27, 2007.
• Signed by the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 14, 2008 and released on Aug. 31, 2008.
• Signed to the practice squad of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 28, 2008 and released on Nov. 1, 2008.
• Signed to the practice squad of the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 15, 2008.
• Re-signed by the Raiders on Dec. 30, 2008 and released on Sept. 6, 2009.
• Signed as a free agent by San Francisco on Dec. 23, 2009 and placed on injured reserve on Jan. 2, 2010.
• Signed by the Titans as a free agent on March 16, 2010.

COLLEGE:
• At Shepherd (W.Va.) University, earned first-team All-WVIAC honors three times as a punter and two times as a kicker.  Set virtually all school kicking records, including scoring (250 points), field goals (33) and PATs (151).
• As a senior in 2006, named first-team Daktronics Division II All-Northeast Region and a second-team All-American.  Averaged 44 yards on 41 punts, including 22 punts inside the 20.  Also booted 18 touchbacks on kickoffs.
• In 2005, set team scoring record among kickers with 80 points.

PERSONAL: 
• At Salem (Va.) High School, was a four-year letterman in soccer and was not introduced to football until his senior year. 
• Also played basketball in high school.
