Biography

PRO: Sean Ryan is in his seventh NFL season after signing with the Titans  just prior to 2010 training camp.  The six-foot-five-inch, 260-pounder is a reliable run blocker who also can produce as a big target in the red zone, as evidenced by his two touchdown receptions with the Chiefs in 2009.  Ryan joins a talented group and will compete for a spot as a reserve tight end.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2009, appeared in 10 games with eight starts for Kansas City and posted career-highs with 14 receptions, 135 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.

• Ryan is an avid reader, completing one book per week in the offseason.  He considers “Quiet Strength,” “Mere Christianity” and “Night” among his favorites.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Buffalo, N.Y., native was originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.
• Released by the Cowboys on Sept. 6, 2004.  Added to the team’s practice squad on Sept. 8, 2004 before being signed to Dallas’ active roster  on Nov. 24, 2004.
• Released by the Cowboys on Sept. 3, 2005 and added to the team’s practice squad a day later.  Signed to the Cowboys’ 53-man roster on Nov. 23, 2005.
• Traded by the Cowboys to the N.Y. Jets on Aug. 31, 2006 in exchange for a 2007 seventh-round draft pick.
• Signed with the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 29, 2008.
• Released by the Dolphins on Sept. 12, 2008 and signed by the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 24, 2008.
• Released by the Saints on Sept. 27, 2008 before being re-signed by New Orleans on Oct. 8, 2008.
• Released by the Saints on Oct. 16, 2008 and signed by the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 3, 2008 where he spent the remainder of the season.
• Signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent on April 21, 2009.

COLLEGE:
• In four seasons at Boston College, caught 75 passes for 950 yards with
12 touchdowns.  Added 29 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, a sack and 19 special teams tackles.
• As a senior (2003), named All-Big East after recording 35 receptions for 447 yards with six touchdowns.
• As a junior (2002), tallied 23 catches for 280 yards with three touchdowns.
• As a sophomore (2001), caught 17 passes for 223 yards with three touchdowns.
• As a redshirt freshman (2000), started six games at defensive end and posted 29 tackles, three stops for loss and a sack.
• Redshirted as a true freshman in 1999.
• Graduated from Boston College with a degree in History.

• Married to Liz with two daughters Emmie (4) and Sienna (1).  Splits time between Nashville and Buffalo, N.Y.
