Biography

A Titan for Life: Titans Sign ALS-Stricken LB Tim Shaw

In Tim Shaw’s words, he gave his blood, sweat and tears to the Tennessee Titans.

On Tuesday night, the Titans rewarded their former linebacker with a gesture Shaw, his family, or anyone inside the team’s auditorium at Saint Thomas Sports Park will never forget.

Shaw, diagnosed with ALS in 2014, signed a contract with the Titans in an emotional team meeting. He’ll remain on the roster for a day before going on the team’s Reserve/Retired list. “He’s going to be a Titan for life,’’ Titans coach Mike Mularkey said to cheers.  -  READ FULL STORY

Titans Motivated by Message From ALS-Stricken Tim Shaw

Former Titans linebacker Tim Shaw made an impact on the field during his playing days.

And then some.

The Titans welcomed Shaw back to Saint Thomas Sports Park on Sunday night, when he spoke to players during a team meeting on the third night of training camp. When Shaw stepped away from the podium, the Titans gave him an ovation as many of them battled their emotions.

“It was very deep,’’ tight end Delanie Walker said. “It made me emotional. I think everybody looked at their life now and realized we complain about coming to practice, and this man doesn’t complain about what he has to live with every day, knowing the outcome. I think it hit everybody deeply.

“I have so much respect for him, just how he lives life. He still lives life to the fullest.”  -  READ FULL STORY
