Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Valentino Blake as an unresticted free agent during the 2016 offseason to add competition and experience to the cornerback position.  The 5-foot-9-inch, 198-pounder is a veteran defensive back that has also excelled on special teams coverage units during his four NFL seasons.  Prior to arriving in Tennessee, the Texas El Paso product was orginally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a rookie free agent in 2012 and spent the previous three seasons (2013-15) with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    In 2015, Blake started all 16 games for the Steelers and set career-highs with 74 tackles, three interceptions (one in postseason) and 11 passes defensed.

TITANS TIDBITS:
•     Blake has stated that the adversity of losing his grandmother at a young age has made him a better person and a better player.  He knows his beginnings and wants to honor his grandmother while making her proud in the process.
•     Blake’s recruiting experience was a very unusual one. When it came to the whole process, he really didn’t know how to handle things. His journey was quite simple; he went to one football camp which was at UTEP. They offered him a scholarship, and that is where he decided to go.
