PRO: The Titans signed Brice McCain as a free agent early in the 2016 offseason to add competition and experience to the cornerback position.  The 5-foot-9-inch, 190-pounder is a veteran defensive back that has seen time outside and as a nickel corner during his seven NFL seasons.  Prior to arriving in Tennessee, the University of Utah product spent his first five NFL campaigns as a member of the Houston Texans.  McCain has also seen action with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    In 2016, McCain tied for second on the team with 12 passes defensed and two interceptions in his first season with the Titans.
•    In 2015, McCain saw action in 14 games in his only season in Miami and tallied 39 tackles, one interception and 10 passes defensed.
•    In 2014, McCain played in 14 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers and registered a career-best three interceptions to go along with 25 tackles and six passes defensed.

•     In 2014, McCain played with the Pittsburgh Steelers and worked with current Titans defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau.  McCain kept his notes from playing in LeBeau’s defense and referenced them when making the transition to Tennessee.

•    The Terrell, Texas, native was originally selected by the Houston Texans in the sixth round (188th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
•    Re-signed by the Texans as an unrestricted free agent on March 20, 2013.

•    Signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent on April 1, 2014.
•    Signed by the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 11, 2015.

COLLEGE:
•    Played in 49 games and made 39 starts in four seasons at Utah.  Earned All-Mountain West Conference honors as a defensive back in 2007-08 and as a kick returner in 2006.  Finished his career with 103 total tackles and his 21 career passes defensed are tied for sixth in school history.  Returned 37 kickoffs in his career for 847 yards.
•    As a senior (2008), started all 13 games at cornerback and earned first-team all-conference honors.  Finished the season with 35 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception.
•    As a junior (2007), started all 13 games and earned second-team All-MWC honors.  Finished the season with 11 passes defensed, which ranked third in the conference and is tied for fifth-best in a single-season in school
history. Recorded 28 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble.
•    As a sophomore (2006), played in 13 games and made 12 starts.  Was a named honorable mention all-conference as a kick returner.  Led the team with five passes defensed and collected 28 tackles.  Averaged 22.4 yards per kick return, which ranked fourth in the conference.
•    As a freshman (2005), appeared in 10 games as a true freshman and made one start  and notched 12 total tackles.
•    Majored in economics at Utah.

PERSONAL:  
•    Graduate of Terrell (Texas) High School where he earned all-state and all-area honors.  Named all-district as a running back and a defensive back and was named county and team MVP.
•    Also lettered in basketball and track and was part of a 400-meter relay team that finished second in the state.
•    Earned academic all-MWC honors.
