Biography

 
PRO: The Titans signed Curtis Grant during the 2016 offseason to add depth to the inside linebacker rotation.  The 6-foot-2-inch, 240-pounder spent the 2015 offseason and training camp with the San Diego Chargers  before joining the Atlanta Falcons as a member of their practice squad late in the regular season.  

TITANS TIDBITS:  
•    Grant was the starting middle linebacker for the 2014 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
•    The Richmond, Va., native was originally signed by San Diego Chargers as a rookie free agent on May 2, 2015.
•    Released by the Chargers on Sept. 30, 2015.
•    Signed by the Atlanta Falcons to their practice squad on Dec. 15, 2015.
•    Signed by the Titans as a free agent on April 1, 2016.

COLLEGE:
•    As a senior (2014), voted co-captain of the 2014 Ohio State Buckeyes National Champions by his teammates.  Played in 15 games and collected 69 tackles, a sack, five tackles for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery.  Recorded 10 tackles in the Sugar Bowl win over No. 1 Alabama and six tackles in the National Championship Game.
•    As a junior (2013), played in 14 games with 12 starts and notched 52 tackles with four stops for loss, including 2.5 sacks, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
•    As a sophomore (2012), started the first three games of the season and came off the bench in five of the team’s final nine games.  Posted eight tackles.
•    As a freshman (2011), played in 10 games, mostly on special teams, and recorded two tackles.  Had a huge special teams play in the 33-29 win over Wisconsin - recovering a blocked punt by Ryan Shazier at the Badgers’ one-yard line that set up a Jordan Hall touchdown.
•    Majored in sociology at Ohio State.

•    Was a three-year All-Richmond Metro defender at Hermitage (Glen Allen, Va.) High School.
•    Registered 134 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and six sacks as a senior and was named to the prestigious Parade All-America and USA Today All-USA teams.
•    Was the leading tackler for the East in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
•    Born Curtis Grant, Jr. on Dec. 28, 1992 in Richmond, Va.
