Biography

 
PRO: The Titans signed Curtis Riley as a rookie free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft.  The 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back spent his entire rookie campaign on injured reserve after hurting his ankle in training camp.  In his second season, Riley made his NFL debut Week 5 and saw action in four contests on special teams. In his third season, he will compete as a reserve defensive back and special teams contributor.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    In 2016, made his NFL debut in Week 5 at Miami (10/9) on special teams.

•    While out of college in 2011, Riley worked at Family Dollar in Orlando to help his mother pay the bills.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
•    The Orlando, Fla., native was signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2015.
•    Waived injured by the Titans on Aug. 10, 2015 and subsequently reverted to injured reserve.
•    Waived by the Titans on Sept. 3, 2016 and signed to the team’s practice squad a day later.
•    Signed by the Titans to their active roster from the practice squad on Sept. 22, 2016.

COLLEGE:
•    Played in 26 games with 19 starts in two seasons at Fresno State, following previous stops at Mars Hill College (2010) and Fullerton College (2012).  Totaled 106 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one interception, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries and one sack during his time at Fresno State.
•    As a senior (2014), played in 13 of the team’s 14 games, missing the Hawai`i Bowl with a foot injury.  Made eight starts on the season at cornerback.  His 53 tackles ranked ninth on the team.  Had 4.5 tackles for a loss on the season, the second most from any defensive back on the team.  Also recorded one sack, forced and recovered one fumble on the year and had a team-high eight pass breakups.  Invited to play in the 2015 East-West Shrine Game, but was unable to participate due to injury.
•    As a junior (2013), played in all 13 games, starting the first 11 of the season.  Recorded 53 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, an interception, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.  Tied for the team lead with eight pass breakups.  Posted a season-high of six tackles in six different games.
•    As a sophomore (2012), enrolled at Fullerton College but was not eligible for games due to credits not transferring from Mars Hill.  Competed with the track and field team during the spring (4x400 relay, 4x100 relay and long jump).
•    Was not enrolled in 2011.
•    As a freshman (2010), played at Division II Mars Hill (N.C.) College and recorded 52 tackles, two interceptions and one tackle for a loss.
•    Majored in journalism and mass communications at Fresno State.
