PRO: The Titans signed offensive lineman Jamon Meredith on Dec. 9, 2014 to provide depth at the offensive tackle spot.  The sixth-year veteran was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.  Meredith has the ability to swing inside and play guard as well.  Prior to his arrival in Tennessee, the 6-foot-5-inch, 312-pounder spent time with the Packers, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals.

TITANS TIDBITS:
•     In high school, Meredith shattered a basketball backboard with a two-hand tomahawk alley-oop slam dunk in gym class.  He received 50 stitches from cuts from the glass and almost lost an eye.    

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
•    A native of the Simpsonville, S.C., Meredith was originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
•    Released by the Packers on Sept. 5, 2009 and signed to the team’s practice squad a day later.
•    Signed by the Buffalo Bills to their active roster from the Packers’ practice squad on Sept. 22, 2009.
•    Released by the Bills on Oct. 4, 2010 and claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions on Oct. 6, 2010.

•    Signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an unrestricted free agent on March 22, 2012.
•    Re-signed by the Buccaneers as an unrestricted free agent on March 11, 2014.
•    Released by the Buccaneers on Aug. 29, 2014.
•    Signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent on Sept. 3, 2014 and released by the team on Nov. 4, 2014.

COLLEGE:
•    Was a three-year starter at South Carolina at three different positions.  Of his 38 career starts, 19 came at left tackle, 11 at right tackle and eight at left guard his final campaign.
•    Was named the most outstanding offensive lineman prior to the beginning of his senior year while also being named All-District academic by ESPN The Magazine.
•    As a senior in 2008, played in 11 of 13 games, including nine starts, eight of them at left guard.  Was a CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection.  Played in the East-West Shrine Game following the season.  Sat out the first two games as part of an agreement with the NCAA to grant him a redshirt year despite appearing in one game as a true freshman in 2004.
•     As a junior in 2007, was named the Gamecocks’ outstanding offensive lineman in the spring, and went on to start all 12 games at left tackle and extend his streak to 28 consecutive starts.  Was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III pick.
•     As a sophomore in 2006, started all 13 games, the first seven at right tackle before switching to left tackle for the last six.  Helped the Gamecocks’ offense total more than 400 yards in each of the season’s final four games.  In the spring, was presented with the school’s Andrew Sorensen Scholar-Athlete Award for football.    
•     As a redshirt freshman in 2005, started four games, all at right tackle.
•     As a true freshman in 2004, appeared in one game, getting three snaps in season opener at Vanderbilt (9/4).  Was ultimately granted a redshirt year but through agreement with the NCAA had to sit out the first two games of 2008.
•    Graduated with a degree in sport and entertainment management at South Carolina.

•    Attended Hillcrest High School (Simpsonville, S.C.), playing on both offensive and defensive lines.
•    Played offensive tackle as a junior at Hillcrest after spending the first two years of his prep career at Southside High School in Simpsonville, where he played several positions.
•    Also lettered in basketball one year.
•    Was a five-time All-SEC Academic team selection.
•    In college, participated in South Carolina’s ‘Children’s Chance’ program, which involved visiting and playing with children with cancer.
