Biography

 
PRO: The Titans claimed Jonathan Massaquoi off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons during the 2015 offseason to provide depth at outside linebacker.  The 6-foot-5-inch, 264-pounder was drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft and spent his first three NFL seasons with the club.  Entering the 2015 season, the Troy product appeared in 39 career games and posted 65 tackles and six sacks.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    In 2013, Massaquoi played in all 16 games and registered career-highs with 43 tackles, four sacks and five tackles for loss.

TITANS TIDBITS:  
•    Jonathan is the cousin of former NFL tight end Visanthe Shiancoe and former NFL wide receiver Mohammed Massaquoi.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
•     The Lawrenceville, Ga., native was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (164th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.  
•     Released by the Falcons on Feb. 27, 2015.
•     Claimed off waivers by the Titans from the Falcons on March 3, 2015.

COLLEGE:
•     Started all 25 games he played in at Troy, recording 128 tackles with 19.5 sacks for minus 138 yards, 31 stops for loss, 12 quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three passes defensed and one blocked kick.
•     When he graduated his 19.5 sacks ranked 12th in school history and his 31 tackles for loss ranked third in team annals.
•     As a senior, earned All-Sun Belt Conference first-team honors in 2011 after finishing the season with 52 tackles and leading the Trojans with six sacks.
•     In 2010, he was named All-Sun Belt Conference first-team by the league’s coaches after notching 76 tackles and ranking ninth in the nation with 13.5 sacks.
•     His 20.5 stops for loss in 2010 tied defensive end Osi Umenyiora (2002)for the second most in school history.
