Biography

 
PRO: The Titans signed Perrish Cox as an unresticted free agent during the 2015 offseason to add competition and experience to the cornerback position.  The 6-foot, 190-pounder is a veteran defensive back that has seen time outside and as a nickel corner during his five NFL seasons.  Prior to arriving in Tennessee, the Oklahoma State product was orginally drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2010 and has also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    Cox enjoyed the best season of his career as a member of the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.  He led the team with a career-high five interceptions and 18 passes defensed, while also notching a career-best 58 tackles.

TITANS TIDBITS:  
•    Cox began playing football in large part to his father Perrish Cox, Sr. His dad was his coach and mentor growing up and taught him the importance of hard work and setting goals. His parents kept him motivated growing up. Cox has three children, who he says are his motivation now.
•     Cox enjoys bowling as a hobby.  He has rolled a high score of 276 over his career, and has competed in a bowling league during his free time.
•     His father, Perrish Sr., played baseball at Southern University.

•    Signed by the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent on Nov. 26, 2013 and released by the team the following day.

•    Saw action in 48 games with 36 starts in his four-year career at Oklahoma State. Earned First-Team All-Big 12 Conference honors on defense and garnered All-America recognition on special teams, where he scored six touchdowns (four kickoff returns, two punt returns).
•    As a senior in 2009, started all 11 games and led the nation with 19 passes defensed.  Posted 36 tackles and a career-high four interceptions, to go along with a sack and a fumble recovery.
•    As a junior in 2008, started all 13 games and tallied 32 tackles, two interceptions and 10 passes defensed. Earned first-team All-America honors as a returner from Sportsline.com after posting a Big 12-best 29.8-yard kickoff return avg., which ranked third nationally.
•    As a sophomore in 2007, set a career-high with 42 tackles in addition to two interceptions in 13 games with eight starts. Was one of three players in the nation to score on a punt return and kickoff return, setting a school single-season record with 31 kickoff returns for 665 yards and a touchdown.
•    As a freshman in 2006, totaled 24 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Ranked second in the conference with 24 punt returns for 308 yards.
•     Graduted with a degree in education from Oklahoma State.

•    Attended University (Waco, Texas) High School, where he received first-team Class 4A All-State and All-Central Texas honors. Also named District 16-4A MVP as a senior.
