Biography

 
PRO: The Titans signed Phillip Supernaw late in the 2015 offseason to add competition and depth to the tight end position.  He responded with the first season of his career in which he appeared in all 16 games, becoming one of the team’s special teams leaders.  In 2016, Supernaw played in 15 games with two starts at tight end and collected career-highs with four receptions and 62 receiving yards.  The 6-foot-5-inch, 255-pounder was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Houston Texans following the 2012 NFL Draft.  The Ouachita Baptist product spent parts of his first two seasons with the Texans before splitting time with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs during the 2014 campaign.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
•    In 2016, Supernaw collected career-highs with four receptions and 62 receiving yards and tied for third on the Titans with eight special teams tackles.
•    In 2015, Supernaw ranked second on the Titans with 14 special teams tackles.

•    Supernaw’s father is country music singer Doug Supernaw.  Doug Supernaw has released four studio albums: Red and Rio Grande (1993), Deep Thoughts from a Shallow Mind (1994), You Still Got Me (1995), and Fadin’ Renegade (1999), as well as a compilation album, 1997’s The Encore Collection. Between 1993 and 1996, he charted 11 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, including “I Don’t Call Him Daddy,” a number one single in late 1993.
•    Supernaw was actually born in Nashville, but moved to the Houston area at an early age and attended high school in Katy, Texas.
•    A member at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., the golf enthusiast plays whenever he can during the offseason and is a 2.0 handicap.
