Phil Neri
College Scout

Biography

Phil Neri enters his 13th season with the Titans and his 40th scouting the college ranks for the NFL in 2017. Neri is responsible for overseeing all scouting for the Titans west of the Mississippi.

He joined Tennessee in 2005 after spending seven seasons with the Cleveland Browns as their Director of College Personnel.

Neri came to the Browns after working the 1997 season with the New Orleans Saints. His first job in the professional ranks was as a scout for the Blesto Scouting Combine in 1978. He then worked as an area scout for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1979-83 before being elevated to their National scout for his final season. He scouted for the Seattle Seahawks from 1984-96 as an area and regional scout before being elevated to Director of College Scouting. Neri played football at Santa Clara University before joining the coaching ranks. He coached and taught at Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) before serving as a graduate assistant at San Jose State for two seasons.

A native of Santa Monica, Calif., Neri and his wife, Julie, have a son, Anthony (24), and daughter, Allison (23), and reside in Gilbert, Ariz.
