At Super Bowl Radio Row, Titans CB Logan Ryan Had a Bounce in his Step, and for Good Reason

ATLANTA – There was immediately some good news upon spotting Titans cornerback Logan Ryan on Super Bowl LIII Radio Row on Thursday.

He was walking around in sneakers, a sign the broken left leg he suffered in December is healing well.

Ryan, in fact, had a workout planned for just before dinner.

"I went from cast to boot to walking," Ryan said with a smile. "I have been walking now, and I'm not going back to it. I should be better than ever by training camp."

Until then, Ryan will stay busy preparing for the 2019 season. He said his workouts are already under way back in Nashville.

Here in the Super Bowl city, Ryan was busy making the rounds.

Ryan, who just finished his second season with the Titans, had plenty to talk about in interviews. Ryan discussed the Titans, of course. He also talked about his Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation, along with the NFL Draft in Nashville and the Patriots, where he won two Super Bowls rings.

He's especially happy for former Titans cornerback Jason McCourty, now with the Patriots. Ryan was teammates with twin brother Devin McCourty in New England, and he arrived in Tennessee the same time McCourty left. Jason McCourty was released by the team the offseason Ryan signed in free agency.

"I have known Jason for a long time, and Devin," Ryan said. "Their careers have both been super successful, but also different, with all of Devin's success and what Jason has gone through. For Jason to invite me to Nashville and really talk all the great things about the Titans and be honest. … I kind of felt like I might have been taking his spot in a sense (when he left).

"For him to be where he is and the ability to get a championship is great. I am super happy for him. He deserves a Super Bowl."

Coming off a season when he recorded 85 tackles and 4.5 sacks, Ryan is motivated to be even better in 2019.

"I am working extremely hard this year to have my best season for the Titans," he said.

Ryan said he has great expectations for what's ahead in Tennessee, after the way the team finished with four wins in five games. He wants to get back here, with the Titans.

"The competitor in you wants to play (in the game)," he said. "The way my season ended like it did, I am doing the best I can to get ready.

"We just have to get in the dance, and give ourselves a chance. We have to win our division, and our division is really good. We finished one game short last year, and now we have to get back to work."
