Friday's Quick Hits: Confidence in Kicker, Derrick Henry Returns to Practice, and the Titans Injury Report

NASHVILLE -- The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Here's a look at three quick hits from Friday:

Confident Kicker

Greg Joseph will be the fifth kicker to take the field for the Titans on Sunday.

Joseph was signed earlier this week after the Titans placed Ryan Succop on Injured Reserve and waived Ryan Santoso, who handled kickoffs in recent weeks.

Joseph will handle field goals, extra points and kickoffs on Sunday for the Titans, who earlier this season saw kickers Cairo Santos and Cody Parkey also kick in games.

"(He) has a lot of confidence," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said of Joseph. "I think he took a very professional approach (this week). I am excited to see Greg play for us."

Joseph, who had been on the practice squad of the Panthers, played in 14 games with the Cleveland Browns last season and he hit 17-of-20 field goal attempts, including 11 for 11 inside of 40 yards and one from plus-50 yards. He also hit 25-of-29 extra point attempts and had 47 touchbacks on 69 kickoffs.

The Titans are just 8-of-18 kicking field goals this season.

Henry Back at Practice

Titans running back Derrick Henry returned to practice on Friday after being held out of Thursday's session.

Henry was on the field twice this week after missing all three days leading up to last Sunday's game against the Texans because of his lingering hamstring injury. Henry was listed as limited in Wednesday's session.

Vrabel was asked if the increased practice presence should be viewed as a sign Henry is progressing.

"I think what you guys report on is (the individual portion of practice), so if that's as much as he did, then that's what he did," Vrabel said. "But I think we are moving in the right direction."

Henry does not have an injury designation on the Injury Report after practicing in full on Friday.

Henry ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards (1,329), first in rushing attempts (271), is tied for eighth in rushing average (4.9; minimum 88 attempts), and he's tied for third in rushing touchdowns (13). He also ranks third in the NFL in total touchdowns (15).

Injury Report

Receiver Adam Humphries (ankle) and cornerback Adoree' Jackson (foot) have been ruled out for Sunday's game for the Titans.

Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (knee) was added to the Injury Report with a knee injury, and he's listed as questionable. Simmons did not practice on Friday.

Running back Dion Lewis (ankle), receiver Corey Davis (ankle), linebacker Daren Bates (shoulder), receiver Kalif Raymond (knee) and linebacker Wesley Woodyard (knee) all appeared on the Injury Report at the start of the week, but all five practiced in full on Friday and do not have designations.
