Three Quick Hits from the Titans on Wednesday, Including the Plan for RT Jack Conklin to Return

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans right tackle Jack Conklin was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, and the hope is he'll be able to return to the starting lineup on Sunday vs. the Eagles.

Conklin, an All-Pro during his rookie season in 2016, suffered a torn ACL in the team's playoff loss at New England in January, and hasn't played in a game since.

"You are trying to always play at full strength in this league, but that's not always the case," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said. "It would just be nice to have the guys back that you originally thought you'd have at some point and time. We knew Jack's absence was going to be right around now, and so we had planned accordingly for it. Unfortunately some things came up, we had to make some adjustments. But he is doing well, and he feels good, and it will be good to have (him) back as soon as possible.

"We are shooting for Sunday. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. It is important to get practice reps and be able to execute in practice and gain confidence on the practice field to be able to do it on Sunday. That's what we are hoping for."

Vrabel said tackle Kevin Pamphile, who started the past two games at tackle, had surgery to repair a triceps injury he suffered in Sunday's win at Jacksonville.

"That drive where we were able to milk away two minutes and 20-something seconds, he was playing that series without a triceps," Vrabel said of Pamphile. "So we appreciate what he was able to do, and he'll be missed."

Tackle Dennis Kelly, sidelined in recent weeks with an illness, did not practice again on Wednesday and his status for Sunday's game is unknown.

Davis practices

Quarterback Austin Davis practiced with the team for the first time after being signed on Tuesday.

Davis, a seven-year veteran, has spent time with the Rams, Browns, Dolphins, Broncos and Seahawks during his NFL career. He's played in 16 career games, and has completed 236-of-378 passes for 2,548 yards and 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Davis (6-2, 221) played collegiately at Southern Miss, and he spent the 2017 season as Russell Wilson's back-up in Seattle.

Davis is in line to be the back-up in the event Blaine Gabbert (concussion) isn't available.

Davis said he joined a gym after being released by the Seahawks earlier this month, and he said he's been throwing.

"It is obviously a situation where both these guys are a little banged up, so it's up in the air," Davis said of the Titans quarterback situation. "For me, it is simple. I just have to lean and get caught up, and help if need be.

"It's just go with the flow, and try and get caught up. This week, if I'm needed, I'll have a package of plays, so I'll be fine. I won't know anyone's name but hopefully I'll know the plays."

Injury Report

In addition to Gabbert (concussion) and Kelly (illness), running back David Fluellen (groin), kicker Ryan Succop (tendinitis) and receiver Rishard Matthews (personal reasons) did not practice on Wednesday.

Linebacker Kamalei Correa (back) returned to practice after missing Sunday's game, but was limited.

Cornerback Adoree' Jackson (concussion), safety Kendrick Lewis (foot) and quarterback Marcus Mariota (elbow) were all full participants in today's practice.

Speaking of Jackson, Vrabel said he still has to see the independent doctor to be cleared, but he anticipated that happening in the next day or so.
