Three Quick Hits from Titans Practice on Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler made a nice impression in training camp.

Butler, the team's first addition in free agency, recorded nearly a half-dozen interceptions in practices, and really set a tone after making a name for himself in four seasons with the Patriots.

Now, heading into his first regular season game with the Titans, he's ready to do the same in Tennessee.

"I am feeling pretty good, ready to roll, ready to get back out there and keep it rolling," Butler, who didn't play in the final three preseason games, said on Monday.

"It feels good now, that the season is upon us. It feels good that you can now go out there and lay it on the line when it really counts. I am just ready to get rolling. Guys are excited, and ready to go."

Butler has familiarity with the Dolphins from his days in the AFC East.

He said he's ready to do his part with the Titans.

"I am going to go out there and try and make every play I can," Butler said. "I want to do anything I can to help the team win. … I have a lot of energy, and I just like to make plays and get excited. It will be even better in games.

"The Dolphins, they have a good team, and they're going to battle until the end – that's what I have gotten from those guys every time I went against them. It is going to be a dogfight. They have good players, and they have a good scheme. Whoever makes more plays, and makes fewer errors, has a better chance to win the game."

Could Luke Falk share secrets?

The Titans released quarterback Luke Falk over the weekend, and had plans to bring him back on the practice squad.

Instead, the Dolphins signed Falk to their 53-man roster. The Titans signed former Toledo quarterback Logan Woodside to the practice squad, and he practiced with the team on Monday.

So, do the Titans suspect the Dolphins signed Falk to pump him for information?

Falk has been with the Titans since being picked in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

"Well, I am happy for Luke," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said. "We wanted to work with him, but that is not going to be possible right now. I give (OC) Matt LaFleur a lot of credit. I wanted to put everything in that we were going to use, and he wanted to hold some because he said he'd been burned in the past with cut downs.

"So I said, "OK, I'll defer to you on this one.' And as it turns out, he was kind of right. There will be some things that Luke can give them, but then again I am glad that Matt was adamant about holding some stuff until (after) cut down day."

Injuries

Linebacker Harold Landry, linebacker Sharif Finch and safety Kendrick Lewis were not spotted on the practice field during the open portion of practice.

Linebacker Derrick Morgan worked with Vrabel before practice, and in individual drills.

Also, tackle Jack Conklin was in uniform and on the practice field for the first time this offseason. Conklin spent training camp on the team's Physically Unable to Perform list.
