NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Titans just wrapped up practice on Wednesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

On Sunday, the team will face the Chicago Bears in preseason game No.3.

Three quick hits from today:

Murray set to return**

Running back DeMarco Murray has missed the first two games of the preseason with a hamstring injury, but he's set to return against the Bears.

Murray practiced again on Wednesday, and looked better.

"I expect him to be a go," Titans coach Mike Mularkey said of Murray. "A lot of that will be based on the next two days. He did more today than he did last week, see how he feels after doing more. We haven't talked numbers of reps for anybody."

Mularkey said he's still watching Murray work, and run, in practices, and he said, "I've seen a couple of things that I liked better today than I have in previous practices." The Titans initially contemplated playing Murray last week against the Panthers, but decided against it leading up to the game.

Mularkey isn't worried about Murray not getting a lot of work in the preseason. The Titans plan to play the starters at least a half against the Bears, but that doesn't mean coaches plan to play Murray that long. The Titans aren't expected to play the first-team players much in the preseason finale against the Chiefs.

"He's played a lot of snaps in his career, a lot of snaps," Mularkey said of Murray. "I'm not worried about him having to get back on the bike."

Battling nerves**

The roster cut from 90 to 75 players is a thing of the past.

Players on the bubble have extra time to prove themselves this year leading up to roster cuts. This year, teams must be down to 53 players by September 2.

Mularkey said the anxiety is building for some players as they fight to make the roster. But he acknowledged nerves are starting to kick in.

"I'd have to agree," Mularkey said. "There's probably guys worrying about it, counting numbers, which is probably the worst thing you can do. There's a lot of teams evaluating every play of every game, and you can't play that way."

Injuries

Receiver Mekale McKay, defensive back Curtis Riley, fullback Jalston Fowler, linebacker Nate Palmer, receiver Corey Davis and receiver Eric Decker did not practice on Wednesday.

Receiver Jonathan Krause and long snapper Beau Brinkley were back on the practice field and in uniform.

Receiver Tajae Sharpe practiced again on Wednesday, and Mularkey said he expects him to play against the Bears.
