NASHVILLE – The Titans have added kicker Ryan Succop to the team’s 53-man roster in time for Sunday’s game against the Panthers.

The team also added defensive back Joshua Kalu to the roster on Saturday.

Succop began practicing with the team last month after being moved from Reserve/Injured to Designated to Return. After the team observed him in practices, the decision was made to activate him.

What it means is Succop will be the team's kicker again starting on Sunday.

Cody Parkey, signed prior to the team’s Week 6 game at Denver, has been released. The team also waived cornerback Tye Smith on Saturday to make room for Kalu on the roster.

Parkey kicked in the team’s last three games after being signed to replace Cairo Santos, who kicked in each of the team’s first five contests.

Succop was placed on Injured Reserve leading up to the season opener because of a knee injury that had him on the team’s Physically Unable to Perform list up until the final two weeks of the preseason.

Succop made 26-of-30 (86.7 percent) kicks for the Titans in 2018, and he’s 235-of-281 (83.6 percent) during his 10-year NFL career. He joined the Titans in 2014 after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kalu was moved to Designated to Return during the week after being placed on Injured Reserve in September.

The Titans originally Kalu as a rookie free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. The 6-foot, 203-pounder is a versatile defensive back that can line up at safety or cornerback in the secondary. He spent the first 12 weeks of the 2018 season on the Titans’ practice squad before being signed to the active roster last December.

At Nebraska, Kalu played in 48 games and notched 27 passes defensed and seven interceptions.

Also on Saturday, the Titans added right tackle Jack Conklin to the Injury Report (illness) and listed him as questionable. The team downgraded cornerback Chris Milton (calf) to out for the contest.
