NASHVILLE – Titans rookie defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons isn't ready to take the field just yet.

He is ready to sign his first NFL contract.

The Titans have agreed to terms with their first-round pick from Mississippi State.

The team has now reached deals with four of their six picks from the 2019 NFL Draft class. In addition to Simmons, fourth-round pick Amani Hooker, fifth-round pick D'Andre Walker and sixth-round pick David Long Jr. all have deals as well.

Simmons isn't taking part in OTAs as he recovers from the ACL injury he suffered in February.

When he's healthy, he should be a force for the Titans.

Simmons, the 19th overall pick of the draft, racked up 163 tackles, seven sacks, 32.5 tackles for a loss and four forced fumbles in three seasons at Mississippi State. He began the offseason as a potential top-10 pick.

"These people trust me to come in here and do what I need to do on and off the field," Simmons said at his introductory press conference. "This organization here stuck with me, and I will not let this organization down. I am proud to be a Tennessee Titan."
