NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Titans partnered with the Tennessee Football Coaches Association (TnFCA) to host the third annual Tennessee Titans High School Football Recruiting Fair on Tuesday at Nissan Stadium.

Participation continues to grow each year since the recruiting fair's inception in 2015. This year's event drew representatives from 120 Tennessee high schools – both public and private – and 68 colleges and universities across 17 states.

"This event aligns perfectly with our organization's commitment to support educational opportunities and high school football throughout Tennessee," Titans Football Outreach Coordinator Josh Corey said. "It was a natural fit for us and we are excited to see the growth in participation over the past three years."

The recruiting fair provides a platform for under recruited high school student-athletes to gain exposure from colleges who wouldn't have been able to access them through the normal recruiting process, creating opportunities for those student-athletes to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level.

"FBS schools have a vast amount of resources to be able to go out [and recruit] and a lot of times these kids that they're recruiting are featured by regional and national publications so it's a lot easier for those kids to receive exposure," Corey said. "This event is unique in the fact that we aim to assist student athletes who may go unnoticed because of the lack of recruiting resources at the college and universities in attendance today."

The players in reference actually represent the majority of college football players – those playing at the FCS, Division II and III and NAIA levels.

"This event caters to the majority of the players who will play at the collegiate level as far as numbers go," Corey said. "Division I players receive most of the attention, but they are not representative of the majority."

The recruiting fair is a win-win for everyone involved. College coaches, like University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Offensive Coordinator Justin Rascatti, are able recruit the entire state in 3 or 4 hours.

"The recruiting fair brings Tennessee high school coaches and top college football programs from the southeast together," Rascatti said. "We as recruiters can watch film, view transcripts and discuss each prospective student-athlete with the people who know them best – their high school coaches."

For the third year, the event also led to a boost in TnFCA membership. The state football coaches association has seen a drastic increase in membership and participation because of events like the recruiting fair.

The TnFCA was established to help maintain the highest possible standards in football and in the profession of coaching football. Since the inaugural recruiting fair in 2015, TnFCA membership has increased by more than 200%. The result of the increased membership is a stronger association that promotes the growth and development of high school football across Tennessee.

"The TnFCA could not have been happier with the success of this year's recruiting fair. With the help of Josh Corey and the Tennessee Titans, our association feels the event can rival any in the country," said Thomas McDaniel, head coach at Christian Brothers High School (Memphis, Tenn.) and president of the TnFCA. "Fortunately, the Titans understand the importance of community relations when it comes to high school athletics and this is just another example of their commitment."
