NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has officially been ruled out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Colts.
Mariota is among the team’s inactives after being limited in practices all week. He was listed as questionable for the contest on Friday with neck and foot injuries. The Titans made the decision to keep him sidelined for the game because of the injuries.
Quarterback Blaine Gabbert will start for the Titans, while Austin Davis will serve as the team’s No.2 quarterback.
The Titans, winners of four straight, need a win to advance into the playoffs.
Mariota suffered the injury late in the first half of last Saturday’s game vs. the Redskins.
Gabbert stepped in for Mariota, and guided the Titans to a 25-16 win. The Titans won in Gabbert’s only start of the season – a Week 2 win against the Texans.
Also inactive for the Titans: cornerback Kenneth Durden, running back Jeremy McNichols, linebacker LaTroy Lewis, guard Aaron Stinnie, tackle Tyler Marz, linebacker Brian Orakpo.
