NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans have released running back David Cobb, a fifth round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Cobb was one of two players released on Tuesday as the team got down to the league-mandated 75 players. The Titans also parted ways with receiver Jarrod West.

Cobb had a disappointing rookie season in 2015. He spent the first half of last season on injured reserve with a calf injury. During the second half of the year, he had limited success carrying the football. Cobb finished his rookie season with 146 yards on 52 carries (2.8-yard average) while appearing in seven games, with one start.

This offseason, the Titans traded for running back DeMarco Murray and drafted Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry. The team also has running backs Dexter McCluster, Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey and David Fluellen.

Cobb, who ran for 2,829 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Minnesota, has just eight carries for 28 yards in the preseason.

All NFL teams must be down to 53 players by Saturday.
